Party, Party, & More Party!!

Well, Wes ‘finally’ – according to him – turned 3! (I’m sure he’s already counting down to turning 4, crazy kid.) We had a small little “just us four” family party on Friday night, then Saturday morning he had a nice party with some of his friends, and then Saturday night we had the Kinsey Cake Ritual, and Sunday afternoon the Marsing Birthday Dinner tradition. Of course there were presents with each and every one of these happenings. (So yesterday was a great big clean up / throw out party of my own.)

Anyway, Phil and I got him some Roller Skates (he wanted them because Riley has them) and so Friday night Riley had to try and teach him how to use them. Unfortunately he taught him how to fall down, more then he taught him to actually “roll”. However, Wes quite enjoyed both the rolling and the falling down parts of it.
Saturday was a little colder than expected so we hurriedly changed what was supposed to have been a water party, into some fun and games. Including the wonderful “pinata”! (I’m not sure if Wes hit the piñata more or if the piñata hit him more, either way he loved it.)
Then Saturday night we had the first of two “noodle cakes” that Wes picked out of my cupcake book! He is the one that dubbed it the “noodle cake”, and was happy to come in two or three times while I was making it, and let me know that he “LOVED” it and that I was doing a good job.
Sunday, there was a lot more presents that he loved - including the clothes and especially the coat and the Mario shirt. Then another “noodle cake.” Plus lots of talking, playing, eating and lots and lots of fun!!! I love having parties and getting everyone together!

Won't kids ever listen!!!

No matter how many times I've told them - both of my kids have blatantly disregarded my commands that they stop getting bigger and to not grow up. Can you believe it!! So now (without my permission, mind you) This kid: Who yesterday, was just this many:
Today is now this many:
Wow, the time sure has flown!!
And look at this guy!

I swear he was just turning 3 years old not very long ago!! (By the way, check out the new belt!!)
