It's amazing how when you have all the time in the world to post, you therefore have very little to post about. Then when you have lots to post about, you have no time to do the actual posting. The latter is how this past four weeks has been - I finally have a ton of things to post about, but can never find the time to get them onto this blog. But things have finally slowed down (from 110 miles an hour to just a meager 85 miles an hour) but slowed down all the same, and so I decided I better find the time to post about the last 4 weeks before another 4 pass me by.
(I've heard and agree that pictures are worth a thousand words - so I'll post a lot of pictures and keep the words to a minimum.)
Four weeks ago we started out with Riley turning 8 years old. He got his long awaited bike, and even though the morning of his birthday it was raining, he still made sure to take it for a spin, as well as a very painful, yet slightly funny spill.
Riley decided that he wanted Alien cupcakes for his birthday cake. (Believe me, they looked a lot easier to make then they really were, but they were quite enjoyable and delicious.)
Each with it's own unique personality!
After two days of partying for the big "EIGHT", we left and went on a three day vacation. We headed up to Layton, to stay at a hotel and go to Lagoon. We also took part of the first day and went to the Dinosaur Park.
( Riley's new best friend.)
(Wesley's favorite - a hairy Rhinosaurous)
( Phil, feeling rather small.)
We let the boys spend the allotted 10 minutes in the "gem mine" where they were allowed to dig and find "cool rock" and then take home any that they found. We also had them get and split a geod. (It was done by a big machine which wasn't very photogenic, so no picture of that.)
Then we went back to the hotel and spent a few hours playing in the pool. (I think that as long as the hotel we stay in has a pool, we don't need to plan anything else for our vacations.)

The next day we headed to Lagoon - and this is the first thing we found as we walked in the Park. The boys loved it, and within the first 5 minutes, they were soaked to the bone.
Wes having never been on a roller coaster before, we started him out easy, and he loved it, but was rather upset that he couldn't go on many of the larger ones. All of the larger ones that he could go on, he loved the best.

This was the boys favorite ride. Fully clothed, but you get soaking wet.
We spent another day at Lagoon, as well as Lagoon-a-beach (without the camera) and then headed home. Yeah - always good to get back home. That Thursday - Riley went to Tae Kwon Do, and finally recieved his yellow belt. (Great job on your testing Riley!! We are so proud of you!!)
Then Friday we took off again to go camping for a few day!
We did sparkles and fire works, as well as roasting hotdogs and marshmellows and starbursts. We played with the camera, shot guns, played archery and horseshoes, and basically just got filthy dirty. What heaven for the kids!! (I enjoyed it alot as well, also if you don't see enough pictures here, make sure to check out Marks website and I'm sure you get more then enough pictures - plus a scary fictional yet well told story as well.)
