Two New Members of the Kinsey Family -

Okay - so I skipped a few posts - but I had a good excuse - and now that Sunday is over - I'll start back in!!
Anyway, we added two new members to our family last Monday - We thought it would at least take a day or two before they really fit in - but it only took a couple of hours! These are two of the sweetest cats!
So meet Mousse: (that's pronounced Moose - not Mouse.)
And Yoda:Yoda we believe is a little boy (up until Sunday afternoon, we thought he was a girl.) He loves to chase the little fake mice, and attack feet - but also likes to sit on Riley and sleep.Mousse on the other hand is a girl, and we can tell because of her fetish for shoes - she also likes to sleep on anyone that is willing to pet her between the ears! They get along with each other really well. Love to fight and wrestle - but really do love each other! ALL the members of our family loves these cute little guys - some of us more then others!!

Football!!

Saturday was Riley's first Football game - Ever!!! He was excited and nervous - almost as much as his mother! Anyway - he did great! He's the left guard on the offensive line (I know that sounds like I know what I'm talking about - but I've just had to memorize it, and then I turn to Phil and ask a lot of questions. But give me a couple of years of this and I'll know and love all the football terms and what they mean!) So that said - let me try to explain what each of the following pictures are of. (By the way - he is #66)
This is one of his warm ups from before the game - knee-ups.
Riley getting down on the line (he's the one just in front of the referee). Helping to make a block (I think they were suppose to be opening up a hole or whatever it's called to let the runner through).
Making a perfect block.
Walking away from the huddle to get down on the line. (I don't know if that the right term, but the coach always tells them to get on the line and then yells "down". So that's what I'll call it.)
Another great block.
The huddle.

We are so proud of Riley - every time I think he's getting upset or depressed or is going to be hating it, he surprises me and tells me how much he LOVES it!! He never gives up and tries his best at all times!! Watching him play football was a total blast!! It was great!!! (We won't mention the score though - no need - because he had fun, it doesn't really matter, right??)

Copy Cat -

Not a day goes by that Wes doesn't try to be just like his older brother, by doing at least 10 to 20 things that Riley would do! It sometimes gets on Riley's nerves, but other times . . .

. . . HE HELPS!!!!

Birthday Celebrations!

Two weeks ago - Wes turned 4!! He has been looking forward to his birthday since Christmas was over - and got more and more excited as it got closer and closer.
He got his birthday presents while still in his pajamas on the morning of his birthday - and although it was raining he took his new bike for a spin.
He was also super excited to have a birthday party with all of his friends!! He wanted a Water Party - and we had it all set (we thought it would be great because we wouldn't need to find a bunch of games, everyone could just get wet and run around the back yard) but of course it turned out that it was around 50 degrees that morning and barely made it to the 70's by the time all of the kids showed up. But we had a pinata and were able to come up with some games to keep everyone entertained.
(I'm not sure who had the upper hand - Wes with the bat - or the shark with his pointy tail!)
Wes figured out last year just what kind of cake he wants for his birthday's for the next 5 years. His 4 year birthday was the bugs. I think this might have been one of my favorites to make! Gave me great ideas for other ones too!! Wesley's favorite bug was the Orange Scorpion . . . . It was a kick to hear reactions to the "ticks" when you would tell them what they were. And one of the little boys and the party was thrilled to have eaten a "praying mantis" I didn't break his heart and tell him it was really just a beetle. And one of the little girls at the party was so excited that she got to eat one of the "spiders" that she usually hates. But my favorite were the caterpillars. (The book calls it a centipede and says to use only red M&M's but I think that they are much cuter and funner to make in multi-colors.) All in all I know Wes had a great birthday - with lots of family and friends and presents and bugs and cake and ice cream and .......
Thanks to all of you who made this such a great day for him!!
