"Future Careers" - (Day 11)

Wesley has so many things he wants to be when he gets older, and they are all being weighed carefully as to which is the best profession.  There's the Professional Soccer Player, the Professional Baseball Player, and of course the Next Iron Chef/T.V. Chef Personality. And then there's my favorite, that I'm sure is the most serious competitor to all the others.  "Professional Rhino Wrestler"  (I'm sure none of you knew that the little animals with large horns that are shot out of the gate at a rodeo, are not in fact Steers, they are small Rhino's.)  However, Wes plans on wrestling the full sized animal. "When I'm 21." Or so I'm told.
Riley on the other hand, is going to be a Veterinarian/Tae Kwon Do Teacher.  Although I'm voting for his side profession to be 'Comedian'.

Back tracking again!!

All the way back in March, Riley had his very first Blue & Gold Banquet for cub scouts.  For the Banquet, the Cub scouts were suppose to bake and decorate a cake with only their dad/uncle/grandpa's help.  It had the theme of '100 Birthday of Blue & Gold".  This was Riley and Phil's contribution.

All around sportsman!!

This boy loves all sport!
T-ball practice today was enjoyable to watch for the whole family, and included all of us (me included) hitting off the 'T' and running the bases.
(I wonder if professional Baseball players make more then Soccer players, maybe two thousand dollars a year??  I'll have to ask Riley.)

Cupcakes!

Wow, a straight eight days in a row!!  That's 2 1/2 the amount of times I posted for the whole rest of this year!!  Anyway . . . .
I know I was horrible to not decorate a cake for Phil's birthday, but I wasn't sure what the chocolate cake would taste like, and didn't want to screw it up with too much store bought icing.  (And after having tasted it, I think I made a good choice.)  Anyway, I do still decorate cakes.  Our fabulous Daycare provider just had a birthday last Friday - and she got these from us.

Future Sportsman!!

Wes has already told me that he wants to do this professionally.  Then he really wanted to be a professional when I explained that "professional" meant he would get paid to do it.  He was thrilled, and then Riley told him something that made him even more excited.  "If you play for someone like the Real Soccer team, they will pay you like a thousand dollars a year!!"  Who wouldn't be excited for that kind of money!!

So VERY much fun!!

Okay - so this isn't a very good picture - and I know that everyone is hoping for a picture of one of my cute boys - but I have to say that this boy is pretty cute too - and since I wasn't allowed to take my nice camera with me - and the only other camera I have is my 3.1 MP - this is the best picture I got.  Pathetic I know!  Anyway, the Micheal Buble concert was amazing - and when we left - Phil said that when he comes to Utah again, we will definetly have to go!!  Yeah!!  I can't wait until he comes back!!!

Day Two!!

Wow - a whole two days in a row!!  I can't believe I made it this far.
Here is one of the pictures I have been wanting to post for even longer then the Easter one of Wes. At the end of March, Riley tested for his "High Yellow" belt.  One of the things that he had to do was to try and break a board with a back kick.  He tried to break a board with a 'step behing sidekick' on his "Yellow" Belt testing and wasn't able to do it, so we practiced at home.  But he hadn't tried for a long time - and had never done it with a back kick.
I almost didn't get this shot, because I had taken multiple photos of the kicks before this, and thought I'd give him a few more kicks before I started shooting again - but the very nice older gentleman standing next to me whispered "He going to do it this time."  And thinking maybe he knew what he was talking about, so I quickly picked back up my camera, and the nice man was right!!

Copy Cat!!

My two boys just love to play copycat.  Repeating everything that the other one (or mom or dad) says and does for as long as we can stand it.  Then we just tell them that if they don't stop they will be grounded and it won't happen again for a whole 30 seconds.  I have always wondered where they picked this annoying habit up from.  Well, today I found out.  They got it from me!!!!
My two younger sisters have decided to do a photo a day for 30 days (was I invited to do it - no - but that's where the copy cat comes in)  I'm going to do it anyway!!  I realized that it has been two months since I have posted anything.  Have I wanted to - yes.  Do I have pictures - yes.  Did I have time - NO!  But one picture everyday with just a little something said to go with it - shouldn't be too hard - right???  So I'm going to copy my sisters and try to do the same thing for the next 30 days.  (Hope you girls don't mind.)
I figure that should give me enough time to catch up with all the pictures I've been saving for the past two month, plus hopefully some current ones too.  (I'm not sure if what they are doing is to post a picture from that day - or maybe the day before - because remember I was actually invited - but that means I can copycat in my own way, and therefore my pictures will be random.)

So here is today's!!!  Way back in April - there was Easter!  (I know it was so long ago, so maybe some of you have forgotten!!)  And Wes had a wonderful time decorating eggs with little faces.  After we were all done - he decided he wanted to be one of them.  So here is Wes - trying to be just one of the Eggs!!
