Crafts, Crafts, and more Crafts!!

Okay - so I have been doing more crafty stuff - I just haven't been posting it.  So this morning I finally downloaded the pictures I've taken, and here are some of them.  This first one - not so wonderful or cute, (I mean the craft is not so cute - the boy of course is adorable) But the boys loved doing it.  We made spiderwebs out of coffee filters.  (They have hung them up all over their rooms.)
The next one was my favorite.  We made Halloween Banners.  Riley's is hanging from his bed and it says "Spooky" - and Wesley's is decorating his headboard and says "Halloween".  I loved these so much I'm going to do them all year round.    Thanksgiving ones are already in the works.
I did most of the cutting - but the boys picked out the papers and placed them in what patterns they wanted them, and then picked out the ribbon, as well as stamped the letters on them.
We even made one that said "BOO!" to give to mom!!

Then last Saturday I spent around 4 or 5 hours at a place I'd never been before. (And will be going to again.)  Lori and I went to "Crafter's Corner" and had a ball making Thanksgiving decorations. We made "Gobbles"!!!   While we were spending hours chatting and sanding and staining and painting and glittering and glueing - the boys were at home doing there own "craft."  (Does Cub Scout Boats count as crafts??)  They painted and glued and sanded and all the same basic stuff that Lori and I did, so it must be.  And Riley's boat did fantastic in the "Raingutter Regatta" on Tuesday night.
Right now we have some Costumes, and a couple different kinds of Ghosts in the works for this weekend.  But after that - maybe I should slow down on the crafts a little.
(Of course although they are sleepy - they aren't complaining either - in fact I seem to get more complaints about NOT doing a "crafty" something as often as they would like.  So maybe I won't slow down until they start complaining about doing too many crafty things.)

2 New Crafts!

This first one wasn't so much for the fun of making them (since I did it all myself) but for the fact that the boys wanted them as well as decorations for the outside of the house.  I quite like how they turned out.

The 2nd Craft was defenitely for the boys to do.  They painted:

And sprayed them to be shiny:
Then we added the eyes:
Then come the ears and the wings - and you end up with these cute little pumpkin bats:

I think these guys are my favorite craft so far!!!  Way cute - and super easy!!

We've got more in the works for this weekend - I can't wait 'til our house is overflowing with Halloween crafts and Wes & Ri are both happily surrounded by spooky (cute) things in all directions!

The Big Reveal!!!

I know everyone is just dieing to know what it is that we were making - or not!!  But here it is anyway!!

I found this craft on the first site that I went to, which is one of my absolute most favorite blogs http://www.ourbestbites.com/.
(If you want to find the post about how to make these, click HERE, also if you have boys, or girls that like to get messy - try THIS, which is super fun.)

Anyway, I love these - they turned out so much cuter then I thought - and the boys thought they were great.  And they also had quite a bit of fun making them - and after the first few minutes of showing them how to do, they were able to do it pretty much by them selves.  (Much better then the crafts that you end up having to basically do yourself.)  And once we put the candles in them (yes Jeni they are candle holders - nice guess!) the boys loved them even more - and didn't want us to put the candles out at all last night.  (We finally did after they went to sleep.)

So they are more excited then ever to start on our next project - Which we are hoping will be finished before October 1st!!

Halloween Craftiness!!

Wow, two posts within a few day of each other.  I'm shocked at myself!!
Anyway, Wes has been very big on Halloween, and especially decorating our house.  I figured it would be fun if we created some of the decorations ourselves.  So I spent some time on the internet trying to find something to do.  However, a little time, ended up being A LOT of time, because holy cow are there a ton of crafty blog out there, and I found so many amazing ones.  So I've made a rather large list of crafts that we have most of the things already for and that the boys can help with as well as get a little messy with.  We will be making most (maybe all) of these crafts sometime before Halloween.  And we started on the first one this afternoon.

We used a little of this -

And did a little bit of this -

And created some things like this -

But they aren't finished yet - so you'll have to wait 'til tomorrow or Wednesday to see what they finally become!!

(And I'm not promising anything - but I'm going to try and post most (if not all) of the things that we are creating.  So come back a little more often then usual - at least for the next month.)

Fashion Accessories!!

Glasses - can you call them a fashion accessory??  They aren't exactly something people wear if they don't need them. (Unless you're talking about sunglasses.)  But now days if you need them, you can make sure to get really cute ones.  I think that we did that for Wes!!  (I don't know why, but I think he looks a little like a small Greg Kinnear.)

Lemons!

If anyone has been around Wesley anytime in the last couple of months - I'm sure they have heard him rhyming.  In every single on of his rhymes, he adds the word "lemon."  I'm not sure why, and so the other day I asked him.  His answer was very simple:
"Because I like Lemons."
"Have you ever tasted a lemon."
"No, what's a lemon?"
Laughter all around and then me - "It's a type of fruit."
"Do we have a lemon?"
"Yes, would you like to try it?"
"Yes, Yes, Yes!!  I LOVE all fruits"
Then Riley had to try it.  Wes couldn't handle it, but he could!  Or so I was told prior to this:

Why so Sad?? - Day 19

I was given this sad face only because Phil had just told him that the Air Conditioner wouldn't be ready to use for a couple more minutes.  Was it really that hot today??

Day 18!!

Homemade Pasta - just doesn't compare to store bought.  (My boys complain now if I don't make it at home.)  But I usually get more help then I can handle when I'm making it, so I don't put up a fight.

Crazy Kid!! - Day 16

Yesterday we were watching T.V., Wes got up and took off to the bathroom.  (Not unusual.)  A few minutes later, from the bathroom, we hear being sung as loud as he can, "WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS".
(Sorry, I didn't think a shot from that actual moment was appropriate - so here is just a cute one of the crazy kid.)
